I was walking along a path with two friends - the sun was setting - suddenly the sky turned blood red - I paused, feeling exhausted, and leaned on the fence - there was blood and tongues of fire above the blue-black fjord and the city - my friends walked on, and I stood there trembling with anxiety - and I sensed an infinite scream passing through nature.
-E. Munch

26.05.2013 IMPORTANT EDIT: I've seen some people using my scannography on tumblr or as avatars. I don't mind - I'm happy you like it. Please credit it if you can. And you can use it non-commercially, no problem. But if you want to use it for commercial purposes, beware - I'll find you and sue you. It's my face. Don't sell my face, please! :)

This is scannography or scanner art. No additional textures or manips were made, only some minor levels adjustment.

A fresh new angle to Edvard Munch's famed artwork, The Scream.

The process in making this work of art is innovative and deserves the plaudits it gets.

Pros:
- The eeriness really sits well with the theme of the actual painting
- The theme intended by Munch, anxiety and apprehension while going about our daily life, is well brought out in this picture
- The texture of the face is very consistent with similar artworks of a macabre nature, which succeed in impacting the onlooker with the actual feeling the artist has when making it
- The blurriness and the scarring around the eyes and cheeks are masterstrokes by the artist that makes the art more - for the want of a better word - real
- The mouth's irregularity rounds off the whole thing, adding a finesse which is understated, yet impactful
- The choice of greys/blacks/whites is appreciated, I am imagining that the artwork wouldn't have been that impactful in normal or realistic color

Non Pros:
- The texture of the fingers and the palm doesn't seem to be consistent with that of the whole artwork - eyes, face, cheek and all. If that was intended, my bad <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=":) (Smile)"/>

Observations and thoughts:
- This is an artwork where Shroud of Turin meets The Scream
- A psychedelic take on this artwork would be swell <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/let…" width="15" height="15" alt=":P" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="395" title=":P (Lick)"/>
